I know- it’s been, well, awhile. My sincerest apologies for letting life get in the way. I promise I will get back to blogging very soon. As this year comes to a close though, there’s a random thought I had the other day that I just have to share with you…
Boxes- our little overlords
It seems that boxes control our lives. Receive something? It probably came in a box. Want to get rid of something? Put it over there in that box to throw out or donate. Want to store it for safekeeping? Put it in a box on a shelf. The houses we live in are often compared to boxes, with rooms that are box-shaped. We work in buildings that are box-shaped too, inside offices that are box-shaped, or “cubicles,” whose very name implies a box.
We drive cars that could be compared to boxes. Oftentimes we say we feel “boxed in” if we’re stuck in a job or a life we hate, or maybe just have too much miscellaneous stuff around us. And when we pass on from this life, we are put in a box (a.k.a. casket) and buried, or reduced to ashes and put in a box (a.k.a. urn) on a shelf or our ashes scattered. All the while, boxes are controlling our lives!
I say- enough is enough! No more boxes controlling our lives! I say, let’s get out there and be free in the open air in this great big wonderful world of ours! WHO’S WITH ME?!
Oh wait- it’s freezing out there? You don’t say. Oh well, guess it can wait until spring. I’ll just go back to my box and curl up with a blanket, a good book, and some hot chocolate until then. ;o)
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! AND I HOPE THE YEAR 2020 IS A BANNER ONE FOR YOU ALL!!
